I will forever stand by my belief that summer is the best season of the year, however, fall doesn’t fall (hehe) too far behind as my second favorite season. Here are a few reasons why I think the “-ber’s” are the best months of the year!
Orange Crunchy Leaves
There is something comforting about seeing and hearing the orange leaves of fall crunch beneath your feet. It may have to do with the various warm tones of each leaf and how it contrasts the blue sky and charcoal cement, the sound it makes when you step on them hopscotch-style, or how photogenic they look when you hold them up to the sun.
When most people think of autumn or fall, the image of falling orange and brown leaves is what comes to mind. Seeing the leaves of this past year fall to the ground so the tree can grow anew again is also a pretty cool metaphor to think about.
One thing that I love about fall is the release of the chunky knit sweater invasion!
These sweaters will never go out of style during the fall because they are a universal piece. You can dress them up or down and they will still make you look cute without looking like a potato. These are also very satisfying to wear during Thanksgiving dinner as stated in this post.
These sweaters were “so tumblr,” but now they are all over the place! You also don’t have to be rocking these portable knitted hugs only in the fall. When the weather is chilly, the chunky knit sweater will be there.

A cozy outfit and a powerful dark lip has become a staple for fall makeup trends. It’s timeless, vampy, and matches the gloominess from the clouds that fall brings.
The dark lip brings mystery and edge to any makeup look and it never fails to turn heads and fish for a few compliments.
I may get blasted for this, but I don’t like pumpkin spice lattes, or at least the ones that come from Starbucks.
When I think of pumpkins, I’m usually dreaming of pumpkin pie! Bonus points if you snag the ones from Costco. Pumpkin pie is such a delicious treat to have either all to yourself or to bring to a gathering or potluck.
In my opinion, pumpkin pie has the perfect amount of sweetness and can be paired with any entree. You can have pumpkin pie with whipped cream, or just by itself after you’ve had a hearty plate of Thanksgiving turkey.
When fall is on the way, boots come out to play. I love wearing boots in the fall because not only does it compliment every chunky knit sweater and dark lip, they are so comfortable to wear as well since there are a ton of low-heel options!
My favorite types of boots to wear in the fall are combat and chelsea boots They are the perfect juxtaposition of each other with the combats being more heavy duty and badass and the chelsea’s being more sleek and elegant. Having both styles will definitely balance out your wardrobe.
Overall, I think boots are amazing for the fall because, for the most part, they are slip-on or zip-up which makes them easy to put on. They are also practical for the weather since their taller ankle height evades water from getting into your boot right away. Lastly, they are mad cute.
Are you stoked that fall is finally here? What are your favorite things about fall?
